Why Custom Printing Matters for Jute Bags

A plain jute bag is a commodity. A custom printed jute bag is a brand asset. Every time your customer carries your bag to a grocery store, farmers market or trade show, it's free advertising reaching dozens of potential new customers.

At Vadalo Ventures, we handle all printing in-house at our Kolkata facility — no outsourcing, full quality control at every step. Here's everything you need to know to get perfect printed results.

Printing Methods Available

1. Screen Printing (Most Popular)

Screen printing is the most common and cost-effective method for jute bags:

  • Best for: Logos, text, solid artwork with 1–8 Pantone colors
  • Minimum quantity: 200 pieces per color setup
  • Print area: Up to 35×40 cm on standard tote bags
  • Colors: Pantone matched — any color achievable
  • Cost: Screen setup charge (one-time) + per-piece print cost
  • Best for: Retail bags, promotional totes, grocery bags

2. CMYK Digital Printing

  • Best for: Full-color photographic artwork, gradients, complex designs
  • Resolution: Higher than screen printing on coarse jute — best on Juco or cotton
  • No setup charges — cost per piece varies by print area
  • Best for: Short runs, highly detailed branding

3. Embroidery

  • Best for: Premium brand logos — 3D, textured, luxury feel
  • Colors: 15+ thread colors available
  • Best for: Corporate gift bags, wine bags, fashion totes
  • Setup: One-time digitizing charge for your logo file

4. Foil Stamping (Gold / Silver)

  • Best for: Premium finishes — luxury retail, wine packaging
  • Foil options: Gold, silver, rose gold, holographic, matte black
  • Best combined with: Screen print base + foil highlight overlay

Artwork Requirements

To get the best printing results, submit your artwork in these formats:

  • Preferred: AI (Adobe Illustrator), EPS or PDF (vector format)
  • Also accepted: PNG at 300 DPI minimum at print size
  • Color mode: Pantone (PMS) for screen printing; CMYK for digital
  • Text: Convert all text to outlines before sending AI/EPS files

Important: Never submit a logo from a website screenshot (72 DPI). The low resolution will result in blurry printing. Always use your original vector logo file.

Step-by-Step Custom Printing Process

  1. Submit your artwork — email AI/EPS/PDF to info@vadalobags.com
  2. Receive placement artwork — we show your logo on the bag design for approval
  3. Approve artwork — confirm colors, position and size
  4. Pre-production sample — physical printed sample dispatched within 7–10 days
  5. Approve sample — sign off before bulk production begins
  6. Bulk production — 20–30 days for standard quantities

Common Printing Mistakes to Avoid

  • Submitting raster logos — always use vector files
  • Not specifying Pantone colors — "dark green" is not a color spec
  • Skipping the pre-production sample — always approve before bulk
  • Expecting photographic quality on natural jute — use Juco or cotton for fine detail
  • Very small text below 8pt — difficult to screen print cleanly on coarse jute

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — a one-time screen setup charge applies per color, per screen. This is typically $15–$30 per color and is waived for repeat orders using the same artwork.

Yes. We match Pantone Matching System (PMS) colors for all screen printing. Please provide your PMS code when placing your order.
